Five brave police who were doing their job in Dallas,TX was gunned down and seven others were injured. WHY? For one thing the man who holds the highest office in the land has caused such division between races that now anytime there is a killing of a black man by a white police officer, before any investigation, the officer is accused of being racist. As all America knows the two incidents that sparked this thing in Dallas was the two black men killed by police, one in FL and the other in MN. Now that they have had a chance to investigate they have found evidence that the police had motive in both cases. Doesn't help the five officers who were gunned down by a black man who was out to kill white police officers, does it? The President may say he is behind our police but, his actions does nothing to show it. I heard that someone had ask that the White House be lite up with blue lights to honor law enforcement but haven't seen that happen. Oh yes, I do remember when the Supreme Court ruled in favor of gay marriage that the rainbow colors flooded the front of the White House that very night.
I, along with family and friends, am so angry about all this. They seem to be scratching their heads about what to do about all this racism. You know it's probably too simple for these smart people in Washington to understand, but one thing that would save a lot of lives is to simply do what the police ask you to do.
My brother-in-law, Wayne Warrington, was in police work about 30 years and if you would like to know how this man handled his job, the compassion he showed for the people around him, please read "Rooster and the Cop." JoAnn tells of how Wayne helped one man and their relationship. Wayne received many commendations, and was loved and appreciated by so many who knew him. Wayne, along with all police put their lives on the line each and everyday. One night Wayne almost lost his life. He and his partner answered a call after a man called the police department several times, one call after another to send a cop to his house. When Wayne and his partner approached the man on his porch, he pulled a gun from his back and shot Wayne. The other police had to shoot and kill the man on the porch. Wayne's life was spared because he was close enough he was able to slap the gun away from going to his chest. All this to say is that things happen fast. At the time of this writing there has been so much dislike for the police for being to quick to kill in these type situations. Our president at this time has been highly critical of the police. And we are experiencing protesters rioting in the streets across the nation. Police have compassion for the people they serve. We have had 2 cops in our family, Joshua Bohlin, the husband of April (Heitman) Bohlin. Thank you both for your service.

Seems each time I write little excerpts from our newsletter I have an excuse for them being so few and far between, but believe me folks it's been busy around here. Things are green and grass growing from all the wonderful rain that God has sent us. This week though we have had rain but tornados too that have come to close for comfort. God has taken care of so many of us and for that we are thankful!
We do have some recent news though before getting into the newsletter.

About a month or so ago ,Dot that has been mentioned in previous letters, her son suddenly passed away he had been living with Dot for awhile and on a Sunday afternoon didn't feel well and laid down on her sofa and died in his sleep. About 3 weeks later Dot also suddenly died. JoAnn and I had visited Dot when she was here in February and I had then stopped by for a nice visit with her on a Tuesday afternoon and she died the following Tuesday. This has been a shock to each of us and prayers have gone out for her two remaining children and grandchildren.

Now on a brighter note lets look at some of the happenings of several years ago...the family was nutty then and as I look at the things that go on now I don't really see much difference!

IONE wrote these in her November letter.
A prayer written by Killis Boone ..a relative.
ESTHER wrote
Leland bought a hay baler for $75.00 and spent about $25.00 or $30.00
fixing it up and sold it for $450.00. That may have been a record for ever making any money
from things bought that you wanted to buy and make money on here. Certainly better than the dozier that he found when he was on a job north of OKC. Saw this rusty old dozier setting in a field.
(It probably died right there) anyway, he ask the woman what she would take for it and she said $300.00. I still think she would have given it to him just to get it off her place. Anyway, there was the little job of getting it home..duh..he had everyone in OKC office helping him find someone to haul it from there to here..duh..finally he did and I believe that was another $600.00..Then,of course the thing hadn't run in years and I don't remember how he got it into Tom Bean for the man to fix it. Really, he had it for around 2 years and something over $2,000 to fix it. It never ran good always got hot but he did use it for digging out a lot of dirt when we were building our house. Then did sell it. Cost a few hundred $$$ to get it hauled to auction and I do think he got $500.00 for it. Guess no one was impressed with it. I was just glad it was gone. It was just one of those things.
Another Genie Story
A man encountered a genie who told the man he would give him a wish for anything he wanted. The man said he would like to see a highway spanning to Hawaii. The genie said " Man thats nearly impossible do you know what would be involved? Don't you have another wish? The man said "Yes I do I would like to understand women" Almost without hesitation the genie ask," how many lanes do you want that highway to be?" ...aw come on now, we aren't that hard to understand..
Warrington news:
Ralph was nominated for excellent employee award and he and Diana went to Dallas to an award dinner. Ralph got plaques and awards for the Spirit award. He is supervisor for a crew and he was recognized for keep up the spirits of
his workers for finishing a project and under budget. He supervises work on aircrafts. Wayne and I went to baby sit Vanessa and Joseph while they went to the dinner and we took the kids out to eat.HA! What a trip. We had to push everything back from Vanessa and she put butter cups in her hair. She's not quit two. Joseph was his usual talkative self. The restaurant was crowded, and with people sitting close at the next table Joseph said real loud " LAST NITE I GOT SICK AND VOMITED IN THE TOILET." Very camly Wayne told him "O.K. but we won't talk about that right now". We were going to a bookstore afterwards, but decided we would skip that and just drive them around for awhile and then take them home and give them ice cream. I believe we made the right choice.

Hopefully one of us will be able to get another letter in before tooooo long.
She lives in San Antonio
and we don't get to see each other often and needless to say I really do look
forward to those visits.. Wayne usually visits with his sister while she is here.
This year Vicky was able to come and it was great to be with her too.
We planned it so other relatives could be here on one day so we could all get
together at once. Our niece Ann from Quitman, our cousin Barbara whom we had
not seen in years. Also my son Wayne and daughter Sharon came.
Sometimes our two Waynes get confused because JoAnn's husband is Wayne.
We just did sandwiches and desserts and laughed until we hurt.

One of the things that seemed so simple to begin with turned into uncontrollable
laughter. My first bill for my new cell phone was due that day. I gave Jo Ann the
information to pay it so I could go fix breakfast.
First she tried calling the number 611 to pay from the cell phone. She kept
getting a message that it wasn't a working number. She got on the internet
and contacted the chat line. This lady kept saying that was not a working number.
Finally JoAnn told her it worked for everyone else because I was getting phone calls.
Vicky came into the kitchen and told me Jo Ann wanted to see me.
I smarted off I that I was a working CEO and if she wanted to see me she would have
to pay to see me. Also, I told Vicky all Jo Ann had to do was pay my phone bill.
Everybody is kidding so there was teasing back and forth. By this time we figured this
is a problem that needing solving and wasn't going to be simple by just paying the
bill. Another one of those pesky things where the company screws up some where and
you have to deal with unraveling it. Remember this went on for awhile with the lady
on the chat line kept apologizing because she couldn't figure out why she couldn't find
the problem or the phone number. At some point I realized Jo Ann was using my cell number
to try to pay my land line. I just put my hand over my mouth and said "OH!"
Jo Ann turned around in her chair and said "WHAT!?"
I just said.."I gave you the wrong number..that's my cell number and you are talking to
the company where I pay my land line bill. She said "and now I have to tell that lady
I was using the wrong number!" I kinda felt like I needed to get out of
Dodge and told Vicky that I needed to finish breakfast and would she pay
my cell bill..JoANN told Vicky "don't you get involved with her"..Well, I did
give Vicky the correct number and she did take care of it for me..
I understand this is one situation that you would have just had to be
there to understand how funny this had developed, because it reached the
point that everything that was said was funny and we were laughing hard.
I must say that with all the confusion of paying my phone bills they
both did a good job. Payments were accepted and my phones weren't
cut off...thank you sissy and Vicky.
Love you both..

P.S. from JoAnn. The reason I told Vicky not to get involved with Esther is because I have
been around her a long time and she has gotten me into soooooooo many things, it has left
scars on me.

I received an email from someone that I didn't recognize. In fact, it was a phone number with an
extension of a popular carrier. I usually do not open emails when I don't know where they came
from but I did this one. When I started reading it I thought it must be from someone putting malware or a virus on my computer and I felt a dread. This is a copy of it, read you will see what I mean:
*****************************************************************************
Hey listen to this. I was walking from bdrm to kitchen to get more tea (11 pm) living room was dark and I heard something, stopped it stopped. Walked a few steps and heard something close, stopped, didn't hear it. looking behind me now and walking heard it, walked a little faster and kinda getting alarmed now stopped fast enough this time to figure out it was (are you ready for this) the ice in my tea glass rattling.
*******************************************************************************
Since I already opened it I thought I would call the phone number (the email address that was a
phone number ) A lady answered and I asked whom I was talking with and she said "Reeda"

To make a short story shorter it was my nephew (Mike) who sent it to me. He's always teasing me
about being blonde ( I used to be) I have gotten a lot of blonde jokes from him and his brother Wayne
about being blonde. I told him I was going to start calling him blonde. Those 2 brothers are something else. They have a sister, Sharon, who is real sweet but she can get herself into funny things too. Like the time she put super glue on her lips instead of lip balm by mistake. I feel sorry for her though because they are always playing jokes on her. Their mother turned gray early while raising them.bloggerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935745283763495652noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8739013037289406937.post-26241846591323206322016-01-16T12:45:00.000-06:002016-01-16T12:45:40.833-06:00Interesting evening for David and Sharon...Jan.15th.Last night Sharon called me and told me about their evening. She and David had gone to the Cotton Patch restaurant to eat supper in Denison. Mark called and ask Sharon how long she and David had been married and she told him that it was almost 41 years..WHY?..Seems he and Jana were on a scavenger hunt and they needed a picture of someone married over 30 years. They came on to Cotton Patch and made their picture. Then said they needed one of him proposing to Jana so he got down on his knees and customers all around were saying "ooooh and aawww" and they promptly explained they were already married and what they were doing. THEN next came the 'show' they needed a video of someone singing the Star Spangled Banner and anyone who knows David knows he was in his element when he stood and sang The Star Spangled Banner, he sang it well, and I am sure everyone in the restauarant enjoyed it. The waiter came and ask them what they were doing and Sharon explained it to him and he said "you all are awesome"...then some gal came by and said
"good singing." Sharon said she bet the Cotton Patch hadn't ever had that much excitement.Estherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09954190713968540640noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8739013037289406937.post-83749142549164696102016-01-15T15:42:00.001-06:002016-01-15T15:42:57.816-06:00Three Sisters Newsletter ...Here it is Janurary 7th, 2016.
Along with everyone else, I am asking where did 2015 go?

This newsletter has excerps from the June 1998. Mike and Reeda sent in an article and since it is rare to get anything from them, I am putting it in first.
Mike and Reeda: "Finally finished the pontoon boat. It only took little over a year, which may sound like a long time, but isn't compared to Reeda's horse trailer, that is almost finished now for almost six years. We were going to name the pontoon boat after Reeda but it didn't turn out very good so I just brushed WAYNE across the back. We got it to the lake on memorial day. Summer and Rusty called it the 'Minnow' ( and I had it named Wayne) because at 9 mile mph everywhere we went was a three hour tour. Besides people, we had three dogs and a parrot on it. Scarlet has her own perch and can now say oowee, hello, can sound like a police car does a crow very loud, and calls the horses. She is supposed to live for fifty years with the intelligence of a five year old and to think we got rid of the kids last year." Update on Scarlet this was 1998 and they still have her in2016. Her vocabulary has grown a bunch.

Warrington news:
Wayne, JoAnn, Ralph, Diana, Joseph and Courtney are to leave for California the 17th. to see Terri. That is if JoAnn doesn't have jury duty. She was to have it the last of October but begged off because she was so busy and thinking it would be into the next year before they called her again but wrong they summoned her for December the 11th. She is fearing for her life that if she has to serve then she can't go to California. (note from Esther..It's my understanding, sissy, that they consider that a personal problem) sooo, my advice to you is to "stand up and hollor..hang 'em all, the lawyers too."
That should do it.

Terri's news:
She wrote to say that she has relatives coming, a whole slew of them.( guess she hasn't heard about the jury duty)..she calls them the Beverly Hillbillies. We are going to Rosarito Mexico to do some shopping, then we are going to ride the train to downtown Los Angeles. (gonna try to lose some of 'em there), but the ones who can keep up with me can do some sight seeing, star searching tour of HOLLYWOOD. Gonna show 'em RODEO ( RO-DAY-O) Drive scene too. The ones that do not get 'discovered' in Hollywood (all of 'em) will continue the adventure to Universal Hilton and stay there overnight. In the morning it's the Universal Studios tour and then if I can't get rid of 'em there they are to come home with me for Christmas. They are getting their presents on Thursday and then plan to leave the next morning.(Imagine that.)

Diana shoots back a with a response:
We may not get 'discovered' in Hollowood but we will be there for a day, she may kid us about that but someone needs to remind her that she that she has been out there darn near 10 years and she ain't been discovered yet and shouldn't be making little snide remarks about us. As far as Universal Studios go if we are lucky we will lose her.. ha ha ha..
I never did find out how the jury duty went..esther

News from Ione:
Terri, Ione said to tell you the card was worth waiting for..whatever that means..Terri probably found one that said Happy birthday to my favorite aunt....Terri's favorite aunt happens to be the one she is currently talking to. Ione and I figgured that one out.

Poet's corner:
I heard it once, it said good by.

Esther's solution for balancing check book..and it works folks.
Esther has a terrible problem balancing her check book, but has solved the problem.
JoAnn told her Wayne didn't balance the check book and it was a mess and she was trying to figgure it out and she told me to tell him to just write in ESP by the error. Just make the adjustment and go away happy. And "what does ESP " mean I ask..she said 'Error Some Place.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
So far today God, I am alright, I haven't gossiped, I haven't lost my temper, I haven't been grumpy, nasty or selfish . I AM REALLY GLAD OF THAT, but in a little while God, I am going to get out of bed and from then on, I'm probably going to need a lot of prayers.

March of 1998 letter.
From Wayne and Beth Hale:
Wayne had an interesting week end, the sewer line from one bathroom got squashed and while digging it up, mostly rock and some dirt to replace it he broke the main water line to the house. He ended up having to turn off all the water while Lori was babysitting several children whose parents were at the hospital. To put a temporary fix he had to cut off water including the bathroom in the garage. Ordinarily no big deal but he was replacing the tile in the girl's bathroom when the first sewer line quit, so for a few hours there wasn't a bathroom anywhere working (ug) Then Leland and Wayne had to quit digging up the original sewer line because the rain turned to snow..oh yes it was raining..Wayne then decided to change the oil in Lori's car, at least he was out of the rain and or snow. Then when he got through and got the car off the ramps the driver's side window wouldn't roll up, you figgure that one out.It was real late when he got the window fixed and the door panel back on. That night there was to be a hard freeze and he remembered at midnight that his tempory 'fix' on the main water line was still exposed and he had to get to the nearest available dirt to cover it up..Wayne said Beth haden't noticed the hole in her flower bed yet. (note from Esther..Hey Beth about that hole in your flower bed, can you bring it up here? I need one just north of the house.

Hey Anne it's your time to get into trouble too..Is Darvin keeping you so busy you can't write? It's going to be dangerous for the deliquent one's that never send any news..no telling what may come forth from these letters..More letters to come folks so tune in often.
August 30th, 2015We believe it was in 1988 that JoAnn, Ione and Esther started doing a family newsletter. Actually, it was JoAnn and Ione that started it but they had a talent for getting me into stuff. ( I wouldn't have had it any other way) We have a bunch of relatives and if you noticed the date we didn't have all these cell phones and etc. in 1988. In order to stay in touch with family we ask aunts, cousins and anyone else who would claim kin to us to write news about their families and we would publish their news along with ours in a monthly newsletter and we mailed them out 'snail mail'. I don't remember how many letters to relatives we sent out a month but it was several. We have decided to start putting excerpts from some of them on the family website...It has been fun reading back over them and able to see what we were doing all those years ago and how things have changed. Below is one article written by JoAnn July 1, 1989.

IRREGULARITY
This is not a commercial. It has to do with me getting Wayne a portable phone for his birthday and Ione also got one. We both have call waiting and we wanted to see if it worked on our new phones. I call Esther and tell her to call me and I'm going to be on the phone with Ione and will try to answer her call. She got cut off and tried to call me back. The operator said she had encountered an irregularity. That happened a couple of times. In the mean time Ione is calling me to see if we are going to do this and I finally get Esther so we can get on with it. Then Sharon ( Esther's daughter who lives in Sherman) started saying 'Hello Hello' Now I am trying to figure out how she got into this. She says she is trying to call her mother. Then Wayne keeps asking me why the phone is ringing doing all this going back and forth. Finally Esther tells me that Sharon is at her house and on the extension, they are playing a joke on us. Sharon said the operator is right when she said Ione and I were irregularities. I don't think that was nice. Wayne just finished reading this newsletter and he thinks we are all irregular.

We also had a send a message section where someone could pass a message along to another relative
through the newsletter.

To: Velma
From: Ione
That pattern # is 9044 Simplicity.

We had a joke section:
I don't think I look 35 the man said to his wife on his birthday "Do you?"
"No "she replied but you use too"

"What's the matter officer" the motorist ask the traffic cop who pulled him over. "You just went through a stop sign" the officer replied. "I know the driver admitted but I did slow down"' " You're suppose to come to a complete stop" "What difference does it make" bellowed the driver. "Get out of the car please" As the man got out of the car the officer started hitting him over the head with his night stick. "now then would you like me to slow down or stop?"

I had to do this newsletter rather quickly this time, during about the middle of it started storming and lightening. Computers and storms do not go together real well even though I hope I have it protected with a spike. I had to turn it off several times. So some of your news is highlighted. I started at 6 o'clock and it is now midnight. I just wanted to remind you again that we are devoted..

We were asked when you should have your news in. It would help to have it in by the 25th of the month. Yo, Esther did you read the part about the 25th?

Because of complicated news reporting, irregularities, fake announcements, storms and technical difficulties..I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE.

This is just a part of the July 1st 1989 newsletter written by JoAnn. Stay tuned for more to come and if you read them you will laugh at a lot of memories. Since these newsletters were started some of our family have gone on to be with our Lord. Ione passed away in Janurary of 2014.. our mother in 1999, Coy and Velma a few years ago. You will read about them all over time.
We do hope all who read these will enjoy them as much as we did.
It may be something in the Bible that he wants them to learn or he is always asking them math questions.
Yesterday he was in the shop working on a trailer and was doing some measuring and Alex was with him. He asked Alex, who just completed his first week of kindergarten, "Alex how much is 22 minus 9" Alex replied "Wampa, you know I don't know history." I also remember when Blake, who now is 13, was in Wee School, he came home one day and announced " I know what 7 UP is made from" when ask "what" he said "women and wine"...so instead of the lemon and lime he was taught he came home with the women and wine. It took him awhile to be able to pronounce his L's..in fact he would call Leland "Weland."
Update: fast forward to September 8th..
Jenny had laid out Jack's clothes on a chair and Jack ask "Mom are those clothes on the back of the chair the one's I am to get inside of"? Well, he got it right.

Note on a different subject:
Sharon gave me a beautiful plant sometime ago. Instead of dirt in the bottom it was moss.I put it on the table on the deck and noticed that just about everyday there was a clump of moss pulled outside leaving a big hole. One day I noticed a squirrel digging it out. I have always thought the little squirrels were cute running around on the deck.( Not everyone in our family likes squirrels..yo,JoAnn) but I have not had the damage from them that they have. After seeing the little varmint digging in my flower I figured it was looking for water so I put a heavy dish filled with water on the table beside the flower and ...bingo no more moss gone out of my plant. We have seen a squirrel drinking from it as well as birds, in fact one little bird takes a bath and slings water all over the place. Well, all God's creatures need water..right? Umm, best I don't see a snake though.
"Of course, come up we would love to see all of you." August 12 was when they could come. That morning she called again..could she bring anything etc. Didn't want her to do that but remembered that Aug. 12th was our niece Marji's birthday ( Marji is our nephew Bobby's wife.) At this point we both thought a party was in order. Bobby and Marji were coming but had no idea we were going to do a birthday party for Marji. I called David and Sharon and they could come also Wayne, Beth and Alex could make it. Since I was just having sandwiches and trimmings it wasn't hard to ask Sharon to pick up some more sandwich meat. She did, and also brought a container of cut up watermelon and Leslie brought a delicious dessert along with flowers for Marji and brought me beautiful minature roses. Of course 5 week old Mason was the main attraction!!! Such a cutie.
Marji was not expecting all this and was delighted.
We had a really nice day which just goes to show you don't always have to spend days of planning and cooking to have a special day with family.
Note to Leslie: That dessert was delicious, but you didn't tell us that each serving had a million calories..oh well, the extra pounds were worth it...
Since the supreme court made the decision on gay marriage, it has been debated whether or not that the supreme court made the law or interpreted the law. Below is a statement from Ted Cruz . I think he said it best because he states exactly what happened. Ted Cruz made a good point. It was never meant to be that a few appointed elite judges to make laws for our country.
What about next time they make a decision? If they start doing this, next time it might be something that takes away something we value very much such as our freedom, which in some cases we see already. Why is the nation not angry about this? Not necessarily about the decision they made on gay marriage but the fact they made something a law without voter's representation. The way our forefathers designed our system. Have we become so accustomed to the government doing what they want, so many executive orders bypassing congress to make laws that it has become "business as usual." Our Presidents have the power to make executive orders, however executive orders were never intended to be used on the premise that Congress was not doing their job therefore it is ok to go around them. If Congress is not doing their job then it is up to the people to vote them out. More and more it appears "the people" of this great country are losing their voice.

I remember Wayne telling me a few years ago the supreme court's job is to interpret the law, not make the law. He recognized it then the supreme court was moving that way. In this case it appears to me there is little doubt they made the law. It became the law of the land without representation of the people. Below is Ted Cruz's statement in Houston Chronicle.

Cruz argued that whatever one's views of same-sex marriage, the issue should be decided by each state's voters or elected representatives, not a majority on the nine-member Supreme Court.
"We should be horrified at the notion that five unelected judges can seize for themselves the policy-making authority and take it from the American people," Cruz said. "We did not establish philosopher-kings in the country. We did not establish rule by an unelected elite. … Indeed, that is the very definition of tyranny."bloggerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935745283763495652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8739013037289406937.post-91177116633546295722015-07-18T11:15:00.000-05:002015-09-09T14:27:06.197-05:00July 4th, 2015

Today marks the 239th birthday of our great nation.
Many of us are spending the day with family and friends. Anne and Darvin are in San Antonio with JoAnn and Wayne and they may well spend it with others in the family. At our house David, Sharon, Wayne, Beth, Shauna, Eddy and Olivia are to come for hamburgers .Wish Mike and Reeda could join us from Texarkana but they couldn't.
Leland put up the American Flag and it is beautiful..I grabbed my camera to get a picture of it waving in the small breeze but when I tried to snap one the breeze slacked off. I could only think that as I looked at it limp how it must feel the way people are burning it, walking on it and treating it with no respect. This is not what our young men and women fought and died for. The ones that have lived through these wars and did make it home deserve our love and honor as much as the ones who died, because they were out there fighting and willing to lay down their lives for this great country.
On a personal note Ione, JoAnn and I lost our brother at sea and Leland's brother died in France. Our hearts go out to the familes who get the call that their loved one has died. May we all say a prayer that we will always be able to see our FLAG wave freely over our great nation.
