In and around San Antonio, Austin and the Hill country, we see a lot of live oaks. This one is in the Mollie Steves Zachry Texas Arobretum in Austin. It is thought to be two that have grown together. A lot of the live oaks are old and have gnarled limbs. The limbs are so heavy sometimes the limbs have to be supported by wire. There is one like that on the grounds of the Alamo. Live Oak
