Blake's Goat, his name is Billy Bob

Everyone who got a goat for Christmas, raise your hand.
Well, Blake did. He wanted a goat and Wayne and Beth knew if they cleared it with Matt and Lori they would say a definite "NO". So they just kinda went around them.
Shauna looked on Craig's list and found one at Blue Ridge..it's a Pygmy goat and isn't suppose to get any bigger. That remains to be seen..They got the goat and I believe Eddy helped find a pen that should keep him in.(Wayne said that pen and goat will probably end up in his backyard). Leland gave him a doghouse that we had built back a year or so ago when a Greyhound dog showed up here. In a weak moment I had agreed to let the thing stay.  We desperately tried to find the owner..it was only after we build a huge dog house, bought dog food and etc, that the owner showed up.It's a toss up as to who was happier, the dog, the owner or us. Anyway, we figure the Lord knew there would be a use for that on down the road.
Back to the goat. Shauna kept it in her garage in a dog pen until Christmas morning..that is when Wayne , Beth and goat showed up at the Watson's. The only ones happy were Blake, Abby and Alex!!!. The goat didn't score any brownie points when the first thing he did was poop in front of the door, do believe Lori just missed stepping in it.I called after I knew they had gotten there with the 'present' and ask Lori how was Christmas? she told me it "was fine until Mom got here",seems she must be blaming Beth more that Wayne...ha.. Later I heard Lori  mention ''getting revenge" and Matt mummered something about maybe a recipe for goat meat..
I will add a little story that Leland told Wayne about that happened years ago. A boy that his older sister was dating gave her a goat..I don't know if it was for Christmas, birthday or maybe he just wanted to get rid of it. Anyway, his mother didn't exactly like it to begin with and one day when she and the goat were on the porch and she bent over and "MICKEY" either butted her off the porch or she almost went off. That's when he got a new home. Someone came by and she sold it to him for a $1.00.
I'm sure the kiddos will get an education of how goats do butt people before too many months pass and probably nothing would make Matt and Lori happier than if the first one to get it would be Wayne and Beth..Submitted by Esther Hale.
Note from Jo Ann: I had a goat once when we lived in the country for a short while. The only thing I can say about owning a goat is I wouldn't have another one. Once when I opened the door, she jumped into the house and then jumped on our stereo. That is only ONE thing she did that was not acceptable. Have you ever seen a picture of a goat on a car? I saw one in real life. Her name was Dorothy. I would like to hear about Billy Bob in a few months.

Cassie

Gets to sit in my chair. Sometimes she sits in my lap and stares at the computer screen like she is reading.
Cassie, my sweet little Shih Tzu has her hair trimmed short. She is the little gray dog you saw in another post waiting for a treat from Richard, our next door neighbor. He gives Sofie and Cassie treats.

Cassie waits

See that little gray dog on the left sitting on the border next to the grass? Her name is Cassie and she is staring at a fence. Richard is the name of our neighbor next door. Richard gives Sofie and Cassie treats. Richard was in his yard awhile ago and Cassie knows he just MIGHT give her a treat, and if he sees her he will, so she waits. This time he didn't see her so she came back in the house. No need to feel sorry for her. She gets plenty of treats.

Cassie Got Out!!!

Our house....
Recently I bathed Cassie our little Shih Tzu. I decided to bath her after I took a shower, so instead of getting dressed right away I put my gown back on. Cassie had her bath in the bathtub and I remembered I left her conditioner in the kitchen. She is always real good about staying put so I left her in the tub while I went to get her conditioner. Well, she decided to get out and she passed me flying and went right out the doggie door, all clean and wet. I started after her and remembered I had my gown on and my hair was wet as I had shampooed it. So I ran and got Wayne to chase her down. I told him to catch Cassie. He did, but asked me what the problem was, we have a fence around the house. Problem?
I have my hair wet and have my gown on, am I suppose to chase Cassie around trying to catch her in the front yard. As you can see we have a fence around our house but not a high one. The house across the street is elevated a little bit so they can see. You don't think neighbors are not going to look at me chasing a wet dog around in the front yard looking like this? Not only that but I had to bath Cassie again. That day didn't start out very well.

Brandie and Elli

They are so cute. Brandie (the white one) was rescued from a shelter to be a companion to Elli while Vicky is at work so much. She has really blossomed out since coming to live with Elli and Vicky. They look like they are looking at the wonderment of Christmas. Especially Elli.

Flying squirrel

Flying squirrel captured by Mike or Reeda

Cruiser

Cruiser lives in California with Terri and Vanessa.

Brandy

Brandy also belong to Vicky

Cassie

She really doesn't like all that pampering.
I got a note from PetSmart after I took her
for grooming. Said she doesn't like to have
her nails done. I know that. That is why when
she has to have all that done she goes to the
shop for that.

Sofie

I am the one that accidently had to spend all night outside

Sheila

Wayne & Beth's pet

Ruby

Ruby is Ralph's dog.

Maggie

Maggie is Mike's baby.

Elli

Elli is Vicky's Shih Tzu

Sofie's Profile

Sofie was about 6 weeks old when we got her in May 2008. She weighed about 2 lbs at that time.
She is grown now and weighs 8lbs.
Vicky's dogs Elli & Brandy and Diana & Ralph's dogs Ruby & River are their cousins. That's what we tell them anyway. Sofie looked out for Elli when Vicky got her. Once they were at our house and Ellie crawled out from under our front gate. We were looking all over for her. Sofi kept running to the front gate and back to us. Back and forth. Finally we looked in the front yard and Elli was in the front yard. Another time Elli was in Vicky's lap and combing her long hair and Elli was fussing. Sofie got a toy out of her toy box, brought over for Ellie and dropped at Vicky's feet. Over and over Sofie has proven herself to be the "big sister"

Cassie's profile

Cassie is the same breed of dog as Sofie and Elli. A Shih Tzu. She is a lot more laid back than Sofie.
She is content to stay in the house and close by me. She has her own little personality too. She is very sweet and quiet. She has copied some of Sofie' habits, like rolling over on her back to be petted and very seldom but she started watching Sofie and now barks some. If she does go outside she will sit at the front gate and stare out at the big world out there. She loves walks. We got her in February 2009 when she was about 5 weeks old.

Goodbye to Spiffy by Jo Ann

We got a call from the Vet early on a Monday, he told us we had lost you during the night. We had gone to visit Diana and Ralph over the weekend, we left you in day care (that is what we always told you it was) while we helped them move. So the last time we saw you was Friday morning. Naturally it is a time reflection on the life we had with you.
I remember well the day we got you. You were cutest one of all the puppies that day to choose from. You were so happy and bouncy, just a little black ball of fur, so little and cute. You had a flat face, big eyes and a large forehead with long ears. When you got to your new home you stayed behind a large chair because you were afraid of everything and a little shy. It didn't take you long to get to know everything and soon you were into anything you could find. We had a candy dish on the coffee table with candy. Diana and I would give you some of the candy. Wayne told us not to give you any of it, but we didn't think he would know. One day Wayne told us somebody had been giving you candy because every time he would get some you would go ape. You knew what he was eating. We took you on vacations with us, when we visited Graceland in Memphis we put you in "day care" for a couple of hours. You traveled really well, content with just being with us.
You saw the grandkids come along. When they came over, you let them pull and tug until you got tired, then you would disappear and stay hid until they left or you got ready to come out. I don't remember you ever attempting to bite anybody. You were always friendly with a good disposition. Since you were mostly black we couldn't tell which way you were laying. Amanda stooped to talk to you once when you were asleep and you raised your head ad she had been talking to your rear. Courtney played and put doll clothes on you.
In a little dog's world where you don't hear of "givers and takers", you were a giver. You were always glad to see us when we came home. When Wayne came home after his shift on the P.D. you always knew before I did that he was home. You never held a grudge either. One day I had company and I put you in the bedroom. I forgot about putting you in there and only remembered you way after the company left. When I let you out you were just happy to see me. I often thought people could take lessons from you.
You were a giver even when you started getting old. We noticed you starting to age when we came home and you didn't meet us at the door anymore. We would wake you up and you would be your old self greeting us like you hadn't seen us in a week. Before moving to San Antonio we rented an apartment for a short while. We noticed then that you had really begun to age. You ran into things because you didn't know the layout and where furniture was like you had at our house. You were confused, but you adjusted like you always did. You became sick and the vet told us you had heart trouble. We worried about putting you to sleep. We didn't want to do that. As it turned out you were a giver in that way too as we didn't have to. The last few months we could tell you were not having fun anymore. You made it easier to give you up, knowing you were sick.
All along Spiff, we knew we had a bargain in you. You have been a very good friend and part of the family. We will never forget you. We were glad we didn't have to put you to sleep, but we didn't want you to die alone and there is one other regret. We didn't get to say goodbye and thank you for the memories.
