Dalen and his boys in New York 2016, they are having a lot of fun getting to see the Statue of Liberty, something we don't appreciate probably enough any more, and other interesting sites. Sarita is usually behind the camera but she did an excellent job on this photo. Dustin even spotted J. Lo doing some filming at their hotel and I believe he and Sarita were able to get into some of the action going on.

The Three Sisters Newsletter
April 30, 2016
Seems each time I write little excerpts from our newsletter I have an excuse for them being so few and far between, but believe me folks it's been busy around here. Things are green and grass growing from all the wonderful rain that God has sent us. This week though we have had rain but tornados too that have come to close for comfort. God has taken care of so many of us and for that we are thankful!
We do have some recent news though before getting into the newsletter.
About a month or so ago ,Dot that has been mentioned in previous letters, her son suddenly passed away he had been living with Dot for awhile and on a Sunday afternoon didn't feel well and laid down on her sofa and died in his sleep. About 3 weeks later Dot also suddenly died. JoAnn and I had visited Dot when she was here in February and I had then stopped by for a nice visit with her on a Tuesday afternoon and she died the following Tuesday. This has been a shock to each of us and prayers have gone out for her two remaining children and grandchildren.
Now on a brighter note lets look at some of the happenings of several years ago...the family was nutty then and as I look at the things that go on now I don't really see much difference!

Leland bought a hay baler for $75.00 and spent about $25.00 or $30.00
fixing it up and sold it for $450.00. That may have been a record for ever making any money
from things bought that you wanted to buy and make money on here. Certainly better than the dozier that he found when he was on a job north of OKC. Saw this rusty old dozier setting in a field.
(It probably died right there) anyway, he ask the woman what she would take for it and she said $300.00. I still think she would have given it to him just to get it off her place. Anyway, there was the little job of getting it home..duh..he had everyone in OKC office helping him find someone to haul it from there to here..duh..finally he did and I believe that was another $600.00..Then,of course the thing hadn't run in years and I don't remember how he got it into Tom Bean for the man to fix it. Really, he had it for around 2 years and something over $2,000 to fix it. It never ran good always got hot but he did use it for digging out a lot of dirt when we were building our house. Then did sell it. Cost a few hundred $$$ to get it hauled to auction and I do think he got $500.00 for it. Guess no one was impressed with it. I was just glad it was gone. It was just one of those things.

Another Genie Story

Ralph was nominated for excellent employee award and he and Diana went to Dallas to an award dinner. Ralph got plaques and awards for the Spirit award. He is supervisor for a crew and he was recognized for keep up the spirits of
his workers for finishing a project and under budget. He supervises work on aircrafts. Wayne and I went to baby sit Vanessa and Joseph while they went to the dinner and we took the kids out to eat.HA! What a trip. We had to push everything back from Vanessa and she put butter cups in her hair. She's not quit two. Joseph was his usual talkative self. The restaurant was crowded, and with people sitting close at the next table Joseph said real loud " LAST NITE I GOT SICK AND VOMITED IN THE TOILET." Very camly Wayne told him "O.K. but we won't talk about that right now". We were going to a bookstore afterwards, but decided we would skip that and just drive them around for awhile and then take them home and give them ice cream. I believe we made the right choice.
Hopefully one of us will be able to get another letter in before tooooo long.

My sissy came
JoAnn tries to come visit around February of each year. She lives in San Antonio
and we don't get to see each other often and needless to say I really do look
forward to those visits.. Wayne usually visits with his sister while she is here.
This year Vicky was able to come and it was great to be with her too.
We planned it so other relatives could be here on one day so we could all get
together at once. Our niece Ann from Quitman, our cousin Barbara whom we had
not seen in years. Also my son Wayne and daughter Sharon came.
Sometimes our two Waynes get confused because JoAnn's husband is Wayne.
We just did sandwiches and desserts and laughed until we hurt.
One of the things that seemed so simple to begin with turned into uncontrollable
laughter. My first bill for my new cell phone was due that day. I gave Jo Ann the
information to pay it so I could go fix breakfast.
First she tried calling the number 611 to pay from the cell phone. She kept
getting a message that it wasn't a working number. She got on the internet
and contacted the chat line. This lady kept saying that was not a working number.
Finally JoAnn told her it worked for everyone else because I was getting phone calls.
Vicky came into the kitchen and told me Jo Ann wanted to see me.
I smarted off I that I was a working CEO and if she wanted to see me she would have
to pay to see me. Also, I told Vicky all Jo Ann had to do was pay my phone bill.
Everybody is kidding so there was teasing back and forth. By this time we figured this
is a problem that needing solving and wasn't going to be simple by just paying the
bill. Another one of those pesky things where the company screws up some where and
you have to deal with unraveling it. Remember this went on for awhile with the lady
on the chat line kept apologizing because she couldn't figure out why she couldn't find
the problem or the phone number. At some point I realized Jo Ann was using my cell number
to try to pay my land line. I just put my hand over my mouth and said "OH!"
Jo Ann turned around in her chair and said "WHAT!?"
I just said.."I gave you the wrong number..that's my cell number and you are talking to
the company where I pay my land line bill. She said "and now I have to tell that lady
I was using the wrong number!" I kinda felt like I needed to get out of
Dodge and told Vicky that I needed to finish breakfast and would she pay
my cell bill..JoANN told Vicky "don't you get involved with her"..Well, I did
give Vicky the correct number and she did take care of it for me..
I understand this is one situation that you would have just had to be
there to understand how funny this had developed, because it reached the
point that everything that was said was funny and we were laughing hard.
I must say that with all the confusion of paying my phone bills they
both did a good job. Payments were accepted and my phones weren't
cut off...thank you sissy and Vicky.

P.S. from JoAnn. The reason I told Vicky not to get involved with Esther is because I have
been around her a long time and she has gotten me into soooooooo many things, it has left
scars on me.

It was one of those day's ...very good!....August 20, 2015
Last week our niece Leslie, from just south of Denton had called a few days earlier that she and her daughter, Alli would love to come up and let us see Alli's new baby boy, Mason. "Of course, come up we would love to see all of you." August 12 was when they could come. That morning she called again..could she bring anything etc. Didn't want her to do that but remembered that Aug. 12th was our niece Marji's birthday ( Marji is our nephew Bobby's wife.) At this point we both thought a party was in order. Bobby and Marji were coming but had no idea we were going to do a birthday party for Marji. I called David and Sharon and they could come also Wayne, Beth and Alex could make it. Since I was just having sandwiches and trimmings it wasn't hard to ask Sharon to pick up some more sandwich meat. She did, and also brought a container of cut up watermelon and Leslie brought a delicious dessert along with flowers for Marji and brought me beautiful minature roses. Of course 5 week old Mason was the main attraction!!! Such a cutie.
Marji was not expecting all this and was delighted.
We had a really nice day which just goes to show you don't always have to spend days of planning and cooking to have a special day with family.
Note to Leslie: That dessert was delicious, but you didn't tell us that each serving had a million calories..oh well, the extra pounds were worth it...

July 4th, 2015
Many of us are spending the day with family and friends. Anne and Darvin are in San Antonio with JoAnn and Wayne and they may well spend it with others in the family. At our house David, Sharon, Wayne, Beth, Shauna, Eddy and Olivia are to come for hamburgers .Wish Mike and Reeda could join us from Texarkana but they couldn't.
Leland put up the American Flag and it is beautiful..I grabbed my camera to get a picture of it waving in the small breeze but when I tried to snap one the breeze slacked off. I could only think that as I looked at it limp how it must feel the way people are burning it, walking on it and treating it with no respect. This is not what our young men and women fought and died for. The ones that have lived through these wars and did make it home deserve our love and honor as much as the ones who died, because they were out there fighting and willing to lay down their lives for this great country.
On a personal note Ione, JoAnn and I lost our brother at sea and Leland's brother died in France. Our hearts go out to the familes who get the call that their loved one has died. May we all say a prayer that we will always be able to see our FLAG wave freely over our great nation.

Esther's granite kitchen counter tops
I had wanted to replace my formica with granite for quite sometime. Some of you know that Leland does not like change and he thought what we had looked just fine..duh. He never tells me I can't do something but when I see he just doesn't want to I usually back off. In this case however I did not.. I really wanted to do this and when I mentioned it he just said "OK" but don't believe he really thought I was serious. I wasn't going to do this in a hurry because I needed time to check out granite and prices and etc. I noticed later when I would mention that I had checked someplace about it that he acted like he wished I'd forget it. One day I said "you don't really want me to do this do you?" He said "no" and I ask him why and "well, it's just the mess" I told him "if that's all thats bothering you you can stay in our bedroom..you have a bathroom, a TV and a computer across the hall and I'll even bring your food to you and they will have the granite in done one day"...He laughed and said "Oh I will have room service"...he still didn't want them. One day when we started to Sherman I told him "I want us to go into Lowe's and check out the granite" I got an "ok" but no enthusiasm at all. We looked at some of the displays and Donna, the lady that works that department, was so very helpful. Some of the displays were no longer available but she did show us a little squares about 8X8 in size we could choose from. ( I believe at this point he figgured out I was serious and he wanted to get something he liked too).We did find one we both liked and from there she explained that we would need to first pay $35.00 for a man to come out and measure and if we decided to go ahead and buy they would then they give us credit when we paid for the granite. We took care of that then got a call for an appointment for the man to come measure. After he measured it we did another trip to Lowe's to pay for it and then we were able to make an appointment to go to Pilot Point and view the actual slabs that would be installed. This was very interesting and by the time we saw, I do believe, hundreds of slabs of granite and were told if we changed our minds about what we wanted after seeing all these we could do that Leland seemed to be more interested. Next we got the call for us to set up a date for the installation. All of this was taking place over 2-3 weeks time. Once this was established we had to decide about a sink, new faucet and etc. They told us that we would need to have the sink and cooktop out of the counter when they arrived and if we were putting in a new sink to have it there so they would know the size opening it would require...same with cooktop. All was going well and I still assured Leland that they would have the installation completed in one day so he wouldn't be having to view all the mess if he wanted to take me up on my offer to bring his meals to the bedroom. I knew he wasn't going to do that..he would't miss watching them work with the granite for anything....Turned put the mess lasted longer than I imagined. Things changed.
We had gone into Sherman one day and did what all we had to do and was stopping at Lowe's to get the sink, and faucet and were tired by the time we got there, but did pick those up. About the day before they were to come to install, which was a Thursday, he decided he didn't believe the plumbing underneath the sink was going to fit and probably need new anyway. Wayne agreed with him that we probably did need new..he helps so much. Then we got a call from Mike that he thought he would be coming on Friday evening..goody..For those who don't know Mike and his wife have a plumbing service..O.K here we to Sherman again..always needing something..so after wearing ourselves out with other chores we stopped by Lowe's to get the plumbing stuff and I wanted to get some paint..we are both TIRED. I couldn't find the paint..I thought what the heck get it another time. I decided to check out how Leland was doing with finding what he needed..He had the same luck as I had with the paint.We stood there looking for awhile, not a clerk in sight, and I finallly said "Mike is coming let's let him deal with it" his response was "good, OK"..Next day..D-Day..gonna install. I must mention at this point that I had put up a card table and another table to put things out of the cabinets on because when they removed the old countertop it would be dirty..that was a chore but it did give me a chance to clean out my cabinets..as if I wasn't busy enough.and tired. Got a call from Mike that he is coming for sure( almost sure)..oh goody goody.
Next morning Wayne and Beth came up he took out the cooktop and sink..cooktop on the dining room table and sink on deck...it was getting kinda messy in the kitchen but Leland was gracious and didn't remind me of it...maybe he didn't want to go to the bedroom and miss all this. A very few minutes after 8:00 the guys arrived.. The put a covering over the carpet and kitchen floor too. They had backed into the driveway and some way unloaded those heavy granite slabs and actually cut them to fit from there and guess who was watching all this. I don't blame him, it was interesting and they were good at it. Wayne and Beth needed to leave but David and Sharon came later. I had bought 3 packages of Jack Danials pulled pork for lunch that we could heat in microwave..which had joined the cooktop on the dining room table along with stuff that I didn't have room for on the tables I had set up. Sharon made some baked beans to go with the pulled pork and they were so good. I had thought the men would probably eat with us but couldn't believe they were through about 12:30 and needed to go on to another job.David and Sharon helped me put back the drawers and dishes in cabinets and then we ate. I got out paper plates and we used those but still had the silverware and glasses that we couldn't wash and dishes that the other food was cooked in because ..remember no plumbing under sink.. couldn't even rinse them. Later for supper, don't remember what we had but couldn't wash those dishes either. It wasn't smelling so good by breakfast..After breakfast those dishes joined the others and I think we ate lunch at Braums...Boy, that afternoon I decided that something had to be done. Kitchen stunk and figgured that new granite was wishing it had another place to live. What the heck..I washed out the bathtub real good and made several trips from kitchen to bathroom..I'm tired. Didn't help any that I am down on the floor washing the dishes and stacking them on a towel on the floor..next I had to put them all back in the tub to rinse them and then dry them with a cuptowel and then make more trips back to kitchen to put them all up... I consoled myself that at least I had a bathtub and not having to wash them in the creek.
Got a call from Mike and he is on the way here..GOODY. Wayne had done all he could trying to use the other plumbing that didn't fit well to fix it to where I could rinse something without it leaking too badly but didn't work out too well..At this point he is ready for his plumber brother to get here too. When Mike got here and we told him all our woes he just said "I'll fix it"...Wayne was busy with other things and Mike got what we needed and did get it fixed.
I didn't want tile on the wall...wanted it painted a light color and Shauna did a beautiful job for me on that..
My husband's reaction to all this after it was completed was it went from 'It's pretty"..to "it's beautiful" to..."I'm sorry I argued so with you about them" WOW..Sharon said "can we get a recording of that?" Now he tells everyone that he liked to never talked me into getting those.

I got out paper plates and we used those but still had the silverware and glasses that we couldn't wash and dishes that the other food was cooked in because ..remember no plumbing under sink.. couldn't even rinse them. Later for supper, don't remember what we had but couldn't wash those dishes either. It wasn't smelling so good by breakfast..After breakfast those dishes joined the others and I think we ate lunch at Braums...Boy, that afternoon I decided that something had to be done. Kitchen stunk and figgured that new granite was wishing it had another place to live. What the heck..I washed out the bathtub real good and made several trips from kitchen to bathroom..I'm tired. Didn't help any that I am down on the floor washing the dishes and stacking them on a towel on the floor..next I had to put them all back in the tub to rinse them and then dry them with a cuptowel and then make more trips back to kitchen to put them all up... I consoled myself that at least I had a bathtub and not having to wash them in the creek.
Got a call from Mike and he is on the way here..GOODY. Wayne had done all he could trying to use the other plumbing that didn't fit well to fix it to where I could rinse something without it leaking too badly but didn't work out too well..At this point he is ready for his plumber brother to get here too. When Mike got here and we told him all our woes he just said "I'll fix it"...Wayne was busy with other things and Mike got what we needed and did get it fixed.
I didn't want tile on the wall...wanted it painted a light color and Shauna did a beautiful job for me on that..
My husband's reaction to all this after it was completed was it went from 'It's pretty"..to "it's beautiful" to..."I'm sorry I argued so with you about them" WOW..Sharon said "can we get a recording of that?" Now he tells everyone that he liked to never talked me into getting those.

Leland, Wayne, Alex and Olivia
Anyone who knows Leland and Wayne are aware of how they love to aggravate children. The other day Wayne had Olivia and Alex with him. Lori needed to sleep that day because she had to work that night so he had picked up Alex. Shauna was at work so he had Olivia too. Beth had some errands and was not going to be home at lunch so I ask him to bring the kiddos and have lunch with us.
Olivia and Alex play so well together and all was going great. Guess it was all too great for Leleand. He and Olivia were sitting on the sofa and Alex was on the coffee table facing them. Leland took the opportunity to annoy Alex so he leaned over and 'pretended' to whisper something to Olivia while looking at Alex, she played along and bent over and wispered too and Alex yelled "I HEARD THAT'.
Leland accomplished his purpose.
Meanwhile I was making lunch and did some cup cakes for the kiddos when they got in from school. After lunch Olivia wanted one and when she told Alex she had eaten a cupcake he came running in for his. At this time Wayne was in the kitchen and he got Alex his cupcake. All of a sudden Alex said "I'M NOT EATING THAT" and kinda stomped out of the kitchen. I ask Wayne what was wrong..Well, my 66 year old son had a grin from ear to ear and said "I just licked some of the icing off and he didn't want it". Well..duh..anyway, since Alex wouldn't eat it ( I don't blame him) Wayne just smoothed the icing around on it and put it back and said "He won't ever know it". I thought about all those hungry kids in China mother always told me about when I wouldn't eat something and thought 'what the heck' and just put more icing on it..
Later he went to school and picked up Abby and Grayson and true to form they were starved so I showed them the cupcakes. Grayson just said "do you have any cornbread?" Actually, I did have about 8-10 sticks bagged in the refrigator and I just gave them all to him. Guess what? Abby and Olivia wanted those too and I think I saw Alex eating one..Suddenly the cupcakes were not popular and they went on to play. Only two cupcakes then were eaten .Wayne ate one and Alex wanted one but I noticed he was looking them over to see if he could find the earlier one so I don't know who ended up eating it. I sent the rest on home by Beth when she got in.

Memories of Our Day in Sherman - Continued
The sun was shining and it was warm on January 29, 2015. A perfect day for the four of us to go out together and have a good time. Esther, Sharon, Anne and myself. We all decided we would drive around Sherman and look at the houses we had lived in there. All of us had lived in Sherman and we
all had memories of the places we had lived.
First off though I have to tell you after Anne got to Esther and Leland's that morning, Esther and I were in the living room talking. Leland decided to slip up behind Anne and startle her. Well, he startled her alright. So bad she jumped and screamed and it startled him. I had my back to them so it startled me. All three us was yelling. Not Esther, she was facing them and she was the only one knew what was going on. That goes on all the time their house when Leland is around. Once, I was backing our of their driveway and Leland yelled as if he was hurt and it scared me because I thought I had run over him.
Our first stop in Sherman was to the mausoleum where Ione and Weldon are buried. It has been a year since she passed away. If she was still here she would have been with us on this day.
Anne told us of a story about her and Ione. Anne said she was a latch key which means she
had to come home after school with her key and let herself in because Weldon and Ione were at work. She always called Ione at work to let her know she was home. Anne was given a nickel to ride the bus home from school but she decided to walk home instead and save her nickel. She would walk with other kids and she walked on a drainage pipe on part of the journey home. Which was dangerous besides snakes being around. Ugh! Ione found out about it and told Anne she better not do that any more. AND, she better not tell her a story (lie) anymore or she would get a spanking. The next day Ione asked her did she walk home and Anne told her she did and showed her the nickel she saved. So Ione gave her a spanking. Anne protested because she told Ione she didn't lie about it. Ione said she was getting a spanking because she walked home on the drainage pipe. A little misunderstanding. Either way Anne didn't understand she was in trouble for doing either one. One other time Anne was protesting about something and Ione told her if she didn't like the way things were going on she could get her grip (suitcase) and go her own way. Anne thought about it a few days and decided to have a talk with Ione. So they sat down and Anne in her serious way said if they didn't want her any more then she decided she would rather go to an orphans home. Ione had no idea Anne had been stewing and wondering what she was going to do for the last few days.
When we lived on Montgomery street I remember Esther bleached her socks and when she walked to town that Saturday they fell apart from so much bleach. Wonder what she did after she got to town?
Look like a kid with raggedy socks? Back then we walked just about everywhere.
I met my husband Wayne while living in Sherman. The house shown here is a picture we took that day we were in Sherman. I lived there with mother and daddy and this is where we lived when I met and dated Wayne. A friend of mine I went to school with called me on a Saturday afternoon and asked if I would go on a blind date. I told her I was going skating that night and she could bring her friend and the blind date. I said I didn't go on blind dates but if they came out to the skating rink I would skate by and check them out, and if both of them looked o.k..( I didn't know which would be my date) I would skate over to them, but if I didn't I would just keep on skating and she would know to leave without me. As I skated by they both looked o.k. so I skated over and found out which one was my date. It wasn't Wayne, he was my friend's date. Anyway, long story short I wound up dating Wayne and we got married. Each time we dated he would bring me home to the house shown and he would then go drink coffee at a truck stop down on the highway. After leaving there he would drive back by this house and lightly tap his horn. I would be watching for him and I would look out the window. The front one on the right.
We had such a fun day that day last week. We talked and shared memories and then we had our pictures taken together on Sharon's front porch. What a memory. There is nothing like family!! Love to all our extended families as well. Written February 5, 2015
P.S. Years later we found out Sharon's future husband, David Pedigo lived on the next street over behind this house facing the same way ours is facing. I didn't know it then but I used to walk down this side street by David's house to see another girlfriend of mine. Little did I know that one day I would work at the same place as the young man that lived there and he would marry my niece. As Louie Armstrong sings, "What a wonderful world!"

I had the most wonderful time this week, I got to spend the day with my two special Aunties and my cousin. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, nice and sunny just a great day. Our roots and special memories lay in the historical town of Sherman, Texas, the times go back farther in history than my time but I have heard so many stories of our family I have felt that I knew them. We had a Dr. Neathery in our family of whom helped with the Wilson N. Jones hospital there and we also had a pharmacist in our family in another little town close by. We each had so many stories of things we remembered at my grandmother's house when we were little and all the things we did in the summers we spent at their house it was hard to get them all into the day. We also visited all the place's that my grandmother and grandfather had lived and my aunt's found places where they lived when each of them had married, of course things had changed over this many years but our heart memories are the ones we will treasure. My cousin was sweet to show us where the old Ashburn Ice Cream store used to stand, my grandfather loved to take us there for ice cream, what a treat that was.

Can you believe we bought a farm?
Leland and I had both moved from farms at an early age.
From these previous articles you know that I do remember some of the
hardships that came with farm living. Well, we had been in the oil
field for years and moved many many times and decided we wanted
to buy a farm and stay settled in one place where our kiddos would
have some roots. We had no reason to believe but that they would
adjust to whatever we did, but it was our decision to try to stay
more settled..On pencil and paper we saw different ways that we
could really make money on the farm..notice I said "on pencil and
paper." Leland figgured we could go with raising hens and they would
lay all these eggs that we could sell ..OR we could buy a bunch of cows and
have a dairy OR we could buy some hogs, raise the pigs and make a
fortune (nearly) OR whatever we may decide to do.. after all we
would be growing our own food so a grocery bill would not be
much. That in itself would be a big plus.
We found our land..quit the oil field..we did have enough sense to
know he would have to work awhile to buy the animals we decided
on. Somewhere along the line we decided what the heck why just
put "all our eggs in one basket" as the saying goes and get hens, cows,
and hogs.We didn't stop there we had turkeys too. Well, surely we
could get rich with all this..WRONG.
Thank goodness we didn't have the money to buy all these animals
at once or we would have been in serious trouble. We started out with one
milk cow..I didn't know how to milk a cow but Leland told me he
did, I don't know when he learned but he he did know how. When he
wasn't there the cow still needed to be milked and mother came down
and taught me. If I had only known then what I learned much later was
'ignorance is bliss.' At time though I wanted to learn how to do everything.
I plan to write a series of articles on the ups and down that went with
our adventures here for anyone interesting in reading about them.
I just ask that you don't judge us to harshly on the things we
did..Some of the things, as I look back now were just downright
stupid ,but we did learn a little from some of the mistakes.

Jenney's design
Some of you may not know that our grandaughter
Jenny works at Fossil as a designer. A friend wanted
her to make a design for her new dog grooming
business. She wanted Jenny to use this little dog
for the design. The friend was very happy with
the results and now can drive her van advertising
her new business. Good work Jenny.

JoAnn's little tin cup
All of us know and love JoAnn, but how many of you know she once stood on the street with a little tin cup and got change from strangers?
I really think I should explain this...
We had moved from Dallas to Sherman. Housing was almost impossible to find, but our parents did find a place on Elm St. On one side the street there had at some point been businesses along that one half block. Most of them were gone except for a barber shop and small cafe..the rest were rented to people looking for a temporary place to live. It was less than an ideal place to live,but sometime you have no choice. It was a rather busy street because of the barber shop and cafe plus there was a grocery store across the street along with a used car lot and service station on the corner.
Daddy and mother both worked and I was in school. JoAnn was 5 years old. Daddy's s-mother lived with us and watched JoAnn. Children do get out of your site at times and this happened, she got her little cup and preceded to stand out there on the sidewalk just out our front door. At some point grandma missed her and discovered what she was doing and promply got her in. Daddy and mother got the news when they got home and to say they were horrified is putting a gentle touch on it.
Needless to say, her career ended with a screeching halt!!!.I have no idea how many day's she got by with this before being caught or how much money she brought in. One thing you can say about this 5 year old kid..she knew early on that money was a good thing to have.
By the way, sissy what did you spend that money on????

Esther's Birthday Present
Esther's birthday present for this year.
This is a neat cart. Looks like it will seat 4 and she can haul stuff on the back flat bed. Since Leland got this for her birthday present, wonder if he is intending for her to work? Just kidding.
I told Wayne I want one and he asked me where would I ride it. We live on a Cul de sac and our
puppies might like to ride on the back seat.
Anyway, Leland did good this year with this.
It is definitely a winner. She loves it.

Rattlesnakes in the pantry????

The other evening I was at the kitchen stove and all of a sudden I heard this noise in the pantry and what it made me think of was 2-3 rattlesnakes rattling their rattlers. I couldn't imagine. Well common sense told me it wasn't rattlesnakes( I hoped.) Slowly I walked over and gently opened up the door.(we can only imagine what would have happened to me if snakes had fallen out at my feet) It turned out that I had a bag of pinto beans in there and they had been opened. I guess for some reason the bag fell over and since I didn't have a tie on it they just started spilling out and it was a mess. Beans in the cabinet and on the floor. Leland thought it was funny, he was a good husband and cleaned up the mess. I removed them from the package what was left of them and put them in a jar with a lid as I should have done to begin with.
Don't you wonder sometime why it is we can be just be minding our own business and still get in trouble???

College kids
When Amanda started college her parents bought a car for her. All through college she drove her Ford Explorer and it worked out well for her. She is out of college now, has a job so she recently bought a new car and asked Vicky did she want to buy her old one. Since Vicky is a remodeling contractor and has been driving her Mercedes she jumped at the chance to have one like that to drive around to jobs instead of her good car. When Vicky was telling her friend about it, the friend asked her "so you bought the car again." A light bulb came on and Vicky said "Yeah, I guess I did."
Note from Jo Ann: There is another post on this blog where another graduated college student (Jenny Pedigo Miller) asked her dad (David Pedigo) if he wanted to buy her "college" car because she was going to buy a new one. In that scenario her dad told her " no, I have already bought it once." Gotta watch those college kids, be alert.....

Chandelier in the Garage???
Diana & Ralph recently bought a house and have been remodeling. Since they bought a bigger chandelier to go over the dining room table, they were going to put this one in their master bath. That didn't work out so they gave it to Vicky. Since she has a remodeling company she had the guys hang it in her garage. They told her they had never hung a chandelier in a garage before.
The chandlier above is hanging in Vicky's coat closet. The door to the closet is a glass paned door.
